Despite the current events hurting the community, I just want to remind people that sometimes you just want to make friends, chat about food and eating or any other interests and hobbies we happen to have in common.
It's hard to approach someone when they show intent on selling content because it creates the feeling that they won't talk to you unless you buy them stuff, however I've met some people who are actually not like that, and are quite open to chatting if you talk to them as a friend and not as a person of admiration.
But yes, there are some who don't even mention a word to you or keep a conversation flow without asking if I'm gonna buy or what. But you don't have to be mean to those people just because of that. Simply close the conversation and don't engage with them. It's as simple as that.
We don't need to make an open hunt for them.
And this also goes to those people. Dont feel like you are less of a person because of the current events. You are showing your intimacy with strangers online and it would be weird to not ask for compensation. However please make sure to mention if that is your only goal here.
Don't lead people astray and tease them to sell your content. If you don't have any interest in engaging in casual conversation please say that before anything else, maybe on your profile or on your first reply.
